Getting quickly to the bottom of the water column is critical for success when fishing weighted patterns.  Materials with higher densities, such as tungsten beads, will sink your fly pattern the fastest.  Almost twice as heavy as lead, tungsten beads will sink deeper and much faster than traditional brass beads.
